Win2K suddenly won't run InstallShield setup app

| Out of the blue, my test machine (Win2K Pro) won't run my
InstallShield setup.exe to test the install. I get this error
message:
" C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\AU
TOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable
for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose
'Close' to terminate the application."
It also won't run DOS programs--same error message. Looks like
"Microsoft Windows applications" means 16-bit apps.
Anyone run into this before and have a fix?

Never mind--now fixed. Couldn't tell from the cryptic error
message, but AUTOEXEC.NT was missing.

| David,
There is a fix on msdn for this error, it appears that the subsystem have
have become unstable and you need to reset it again. i have had this happen
a few times before
