Author Fonts in open-file dialogues

Hi,

I use Filewise on my PC (Windows-XP-prof) to download data from a
datalogger, but opening Filewise (not using it) causes the fonts in
file-open dialogues of dbase 5.7 to appear as mainly question marks, e.g.:
"?????:aa??;" represents "File Name". I have tried to select different fonts
in the set-up of dbase, but I can't find one that fixes this problem.
Although it is obvious that Filewise causes the problem, it affects only
dbase, that's why I'm asking this group for suggestions to fix it. Could
anyone help please?

Thanks,
