Is there a way to simply email reports (sales orders, invoices, etc.) from 2.6 or do I need a third party tool. In the old days we used mapi, etc. How is it done now to email directly from an application. Most of my customers use Outlook. Advice on this s
ubject is important. As a sideline, how about faxing a report directly from 2.6 ??
Sincerely, Dennis

Dennis,

I use ASP email. Look for an article in one of the bulletins. I think the
title of the article title is "dBase Email Center ".

I've got to run...I'll tell you about faxing when I get back.

If you don't need a record in your outbox, the FUNCKYlite that came with
dbase has an SMTP engine can do the job, quick and simple.

Dennis,

I'm back..... as far as Faxing , in the past using dBase 5.7, I used
FaxMail for Windows http://www.electrasoft.com/ . I've not tried it with
2.6 but I think you might be able to use it. The key to using this program
is a file named send2fax.del. For each fax, you need to rewrite this file
with the correct FAX Number and other info required.

I've looked for some sample code but I can't find it. The app I used this
with faxed Job Status reports to our customers. We've since abandoned that
app because we made the reports available in real time using dBase scripts
on our web site.

It might be worth a look or perhaps someone else has an idea and code the
show you.
