After much hair pulling and gnashing of teeth, I finally found it.
I had a filter set on the rowset that was being used by a lookupsql
command for a combobox inside an onNavigate function. Even though it
was the BeginAppend code line that the error was referencing, in reality
it was the lookupsql failing because of the filter.
