| Hi there.
I have an old dot matrix printer and the old labels, the kind the old Dbase IV applications used to print - you know the ones that have perforated sides (we're talking 1980's here). I have customer service ladies who need to print customer name/address l
abels for letters, on demand for one customers at a time (maybe about 5 customers per day). So obviously, laser labels will not be economical. Plus, we've had this dot matrix printer, strictly printing address labels for almost 10 years. How do I make
this work with the Windows Dbase?
Under dBase Plus 2.5's label report generator, which template wil work with my old style labels?

| Why don't you just buy a dedicated address label printer they are not
expensive and come with nice software, I use Seiko's Smart Label Printer
model 100.

As a matter of fact, I just got myself a second hand Seiko Smart Label Printer model 240.
Which Dbase label template did you use to print labels, one label at a time with this printer? Or do I have to install the printer's label generating software, and use that instead? And also, did you have any problems networking this printer?
Thanks!

| I have a similar application to you and for the four or five labels a day
that they do I just installed the Seiko software, they love it. By the way,
these are also sharable either through a specific workstation or by using an
inexpensive print server.

| Hi there, it sounds great. I will go via the same route as you.
One more question, how did you make the Dbase application/database talk with the Seiko software?

| Charles,
I did not use a dB application for this, if you need to I don't see why you
couldn't create a label (report) and send it to that printer.
