I've installed 3.51 drivers but I still cannot setup or connect to MySql

Here's the error message:
[MYSQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver] Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost'
(10061)

I really hope someone out here will help me with this one.

Thanks

Mark,

Here's the steps for setting it up. Have you done them all?

Frank Polan

In the BDEAdmistrator

Create an alias
Select the MySQL ODBC 3.51driver
Save

From the OBJECT menu, select ODBC Administrator
Select the System DSN tab
Select add - chose the mySQL ODBC 3.51 driver
Fill in the Login Page
The data source name can be anything
Click Test
Save, Close & return to the BDEAdministrator

Select the alias created above
Click the ODBC DSN
Select the datasource created above
Save

Click the + sign by the alias and you should be able to open the mysql
database

Hi Frank,

Yes I did, several times, and failed miserably.

My BDE does not have a save option, bus does have a "save as".

It fails here with the same error message, by pressing test buutton

As far as mysql is concerned, nothing works from here.

I am truly stuck.

Thanks
