I'm trying to open a foxpro table but I receive an error message with header
corrupt......
I know it as to do with the CDX index file but is there a simple way to open
those dbf files ? Can we with dbase plus ?

Thanks

Try Advantage ODBC to access DBF + CDX file

You need to set up a BDE Alias and choose the appropriate driver.

The BDE has a native driver for Foxpro tables, but for more recent versions
of Foxpro tables you need an ODBC driver (download from Microsoft website)
and set up a DSN entry in the ODBC administrator.
When the BDE alias is set up with the correct driver, you can access the
tables from dBASE. Make sure you open the database
first, don't just try to use the table in the directory. Roland

Using Advantage ODBC will be especially useful if it allows editing memo
fields in recent version Foxpro tables. (A problem doing so with the Foxpro
ODBC driver was noted in news.dbase.con "how-to " by Eric Wu on 08/29/2005.)

When I want to open the table, I'm asked to supply a user name and a
password !!!!

Check the setup of your ODBC DSN, and make sure the settings are correct.
For example there is a choice between "Visual Foxpro Database (.DBC)" and
"Free table directory".

Thanks Roland.

I didn't understand that I had to go in the control panel to activate the
downloaded driver from MS.

Now it work.

Thanks again.

Glad you solved it. Thanks for the success report.
