You say "effacer" literally obliterate, but I would think along the lines of
"rub out" as you would with a pencil rubber.
Alain says "supprimer" literally eliminate, and this word is new to me.
Which is best ?

I've sent the file to a friend with support for various chinese character sets,
but I'm afraid that the contents of the file don't display chinese characters.
In fact they display in an identical way on a machine with no chinese character
support.
Thanks for trying.

| "Effacer" can also stand for "erase", so the term was correct in my opinion.
However, now that you mention it, I would go with "supprimer" since it's
more technical, and it is usually the term used on French keyboard for the
"Del" key, so the user should be familiar with that term.

Hi Michael,
Sorry .... I got it wrong. Your file does display correctly if the specific
"traditional chinese" character set is supported.
It seems the first machine that this was checked on had mandarin and some other
chinese charater sets supported, but not "traditional chinese".
Now that we know it works <g>, I wonder if you would like to translate the
first lot of strings from around a week ago ?
Thanks again. It's been interesting learning about this.
Here's the list from last week :
