Author Help via CHM files as ActiveX?

Hi Folks,

I used to have my own, table-based help that I want to "jazz-up" using CHM
files. Is there anybody that knows of an ActiveX I could embed into my forms
that can handle these files? I don't want to use the standard reader that
comes with Windows because I would like the user to be able to add their own
comments...

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

HI,

I don't know of any activeX, but as far as I know about help files, you
would have to recompile everytime you add new data. Is this what you want.
Why not keep the table based help and use HTML

HI,

I suspect you want HTML for the visual effect etc.
Keep the help in the table, but stor it as HTML, then create a help form,
with either a browser activex object or some other object that can decode
and present html.

You might get a head start here:

And if you decide to go the route, and if you would like to add a search
capability, let me know via private email. I might be able to help with
that.
