SQL v. 5.5 Crashing Repeatedly

| Hi All!
I'm in a desperate state running helpdesk app on a 7 year old dB, Sybase SQL
Anywhere Database Engine Version 5.5.04 Build #1867. With the app being so
old and on it's third owner, I'm stuck for help available.
The problem here is with the dB engine on the server - it keeps randomly
crashing. No way to reproduce as various clients and dB queries are in use
when it crashes. I've reduced and rebuilt the dB twice with no luck. Dr.
Watson is catching the crashes and it's always the same. I'm hoping someone
has seen this error before and figured out how to fix it. The error is the
dB engine - not the app.

I found a tech bulletin that says I must upgrade to 5.5.5.2817, yet I don't
see it listed in the EBFs for Win2000/NT. These are the closest I can find:

Mark, I was confused by the list of EBFs which is why I didn't post
the specifics.
Generally, if you are on x.0.y and want to move to x.0.z.ebf, you have
to run an x.0.z.upgrade first.
If he is on 5.5.04, will 5.5.05.2787 take him across the "upgrade
boundary" as well as apply the EBF?

| OK, ran both upgrades (quick fix was last) and it's still crashing. Now
Dr.Watson isn't catching them.
Service starts up with the version check: Sybase SQL Anywhere Network Server
