| Hi,
I'm installing an application called "Triversity" which is a POS
application. Triversity offers as its choices for database MSSQL and ASA.
However, to my surprise it only supports ASA5 and ASA7 :-(
A few questions:
Did ASA7 had a version for Linux?
If I purchase an ASA9 license can I use the 7 version?
The POS machines run Windows XP, and I would much prefer installing ASA7
under LInux than MSSQL under WIndows 2003 as a virus outbreak would bring
the cash registers down (and people would not be too happy about it <g> )....
Thanks,
Edgard

That is what I thought, and tried a couple of ways to trick it into using
ASA9, but couldn't.
The vertical company who sells Triversity here would also like to use ASA on
Linux (again to help to isolate the NCR cash registers from the world, and
viruses), and even asked Triversity about using ASA9, and they responded
they only support ASA5 or 7....
Triversity is a Canadian company. Seems like at some time there was an
agreement with Sybase, but that for some reason is no longer the case.
Best regards,
Edgard
