| ASA 9
One of our Watcom SQL developers is taking over
the role of administrating our ASA 9 servers.
Which courses and literature is available
for him to get in-depth knowledge of creating/
keeping up a 24/7 environment?

| Courses are described here:
http://www.ianywhere.com/support/co...scriptions.html
There is a lot of material in the Help file, and in whitepapers on
iAnywhere.com... name the specific subject(s), we can point you in the
right direction.
The book also has some material on administration, in the chapter on
"Protecting".

I already took a lokk at those. But since we don't use any
"fancy" features (like mobiling, remote, etc...), just the
basic setup, it looks like fundamentals is the only option.
However it also seems a little too basic for person.
But it looks like the only options beside self-study.

Well basically it's just about high availability.

Online database backups and live transaction log backups are described
in the ASA 9 Help (ASA Database Administration Guide - Backup and Data
Recovery), and Chapter 9 Protecting in the book. These can be used to
establish a cool failover site in the event the primary database is
lost.
Also see mirror transaction log in the Help.
Microsoft fail-over clustering is described in this tech note:
http://www.ianywhere.com/developer/...i
ce.html
Jasper is going to have hot failover via database mirroring.
Or, you could get someone to provide hands-on tutoring, etc.
