Author Peformance degradation

I run ASA 9 in rather intensive environment.
2500 loads(statistics off) of 2500 rows per hour and about
500 of 10000 rows
and many inserts.
Tables of loads dropping and creating.
Tables of inserts truncating before inserts.
There are no indexes triggers.

I initiate DB with 4gig and it remains the same 4gig.
But after hours of such work, performance of loads and
inserts
degrades 3 and more times.

What it means?
Is there a way to keep a good performance I have with clean
DB.

Leonid.
