Author Remote Server with PocketBuilder

I hope I am posting it in the right place. I have a question
regarding accessing remote data. I am using PocketBuilder
2.0.0 Build 659 and ASA 9.0.1.922. I need to access data
from a remote server =96 SQL Server 2000.
I have created a Remote Server in ASA and a proxy table to
access the data. I am able to view the data in ISQL and in
PocketBuilder using the following code:

select col1, col2 from table ;

When I run my app on the desktop, I am able to connect to
the remote server and get results. However, when I deploy
this application to the handheld, I get the following error

SQLSTATE =3d 08S01
[Sybase][ODBC Driver][Adaptive Server Anywhere]
Communication error

And then it disconnects me from the database on the
handheld.

What am I missing? Please help.

Thanks.

Remote Data Access is not supported on CE.

That's the whole idea behind MobiLink, which can be easily integrated into a
PocketBuilder application. When you're connected to the network, you
synchronize your data in the ASA database on the remote with the data that
exists in the MSS consolidated database. You now have access to the data
whether you're connected to the network or not. If you were to use proxy
tables, if you weren't connected to the network, you wouldn't have access to
the data in the MSS database.

Using MobiLink is _easier_ than it first looks.

This will also enable your application to be
** Always Available, Occasionally Connected **

Even in a place with "100% WiFi coverage" there
will be deadspots or a dropout when the AC kicks in.
