Dear All,

I want to ask what the MAXIMUM value for database (Main.db)
handled by Sybase is.
Thank you.

Can't help wonder what did you meant by 'MAXIMUM value for database',
however the following chapter may be of interest to you:

--------------------------------------------------
ASA Database Administration Guide
Physical Limitations
--------------------------------------------------

As Dmitri points out, the question asked is too vague. Do you mean what
is the maximum size of a .db file (see Dmitri's reply) or are you asking
about the maximum value for a particular datatype (and if so, which data
type)?

Yes, I'm asking what is the MAXIMUM value size for Main.db.
I have a database consists of DBSpace1.db until DBSpace10.db
and also Main.db. And they're getting bigger everyday. The
size of Main.db is now approaching 2.5 GB. I'm afraid if it
reaches certain value, something bad may happen to the
database.
So, I'm wondering what is the MAXIMUM value for Main.db size
?
Thank you.

As I've wrote in my previous message, the following chapter of the ASA
manual will answer your question:

--------------------------------------------------
ASA Database Administration Guide
Physical Limitations
--------------------------------------------------

In short: on modern file systems, you may consider it unlimited :).

2.5G is small. Make sure the hard drive is defragmented, and the
database itself is reorganized occasionally, and you will be OK.
