When viewing the results of the sa_eng_properies procedure the
"LicensesInUse" property does not seem to include users that are connected
via SharedMemory. Is this a known limitation or was it designed that way?
Has it been addressed in more recent releases?

Sybase 8.0.2

TIA Mike

I think everything works as expected: 'LicensesInUse' is described as
'Number of unique client network addresses connected'. And anyway, there
cannot be more than 1 user connecting via Shared Memory :).

Does this mean that my customers can exceed the number of licenses they
purchased by using the database server machine as a client? If they purchase
3 licenses, can they actually connect to the database from 4 separate
computers as long as one is the database server?
