Author Interactive SQL does not open

I have Sybase 6.0.3 running on W2k server. Since this
morning I cannot open Interactive SQL in Sybase Central. It
was working fine until yesterday but now when I right click
a table and go to Open Interactive SQL, nothing happens.
Nothing has changed since then on the server.

If you have any suggestions as to what I can do please let
me know. Since this is a production server, I cannot
restart the server during normal business hours so anything
I can do to avoid it would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Open the tak manager to see if there is a zombie dbisql present. If you see
it on the list, try end-tasking it.

Yes I saw dbisql.exe running in Task Manager and ended it.
But it still doesn't come up.

I see a task named scjview.exe in Task Manager. Should I
end that too? Hopefully that won't stop any db running on
the server, will it?

No, that is SybaseCentral, probably the fast-start stub.

Try running from the command-line "dbisql -batch". This will create a file
called "isqlj.bat" in the current directory which references all the Java
components that dbisql requires. Make sure that all of the paths are correct
and the files it references exist.

For a temporary workaround, try using dbisqlc.

Thanks. The problem seem to have rectified on its own. I
can open I SQL now normally.
I will try your method it this happens again.
