I have installed 8.0.3 and then a later EBF (5217) and everything is
fine in my PATH.

I think what you need to do is first capture the PATH value before the
install and make sure you batch files (and whatever else) is running
fine. Then run the 8.0.3 install. Then capture the PATH again. The
post both PATH's along with a description of what command(s) worked
before the install that are working after (and details as to what "not
working" means, error messages, etc...)
