| Help!!
I have an ASA7.0.4 consolidated database replicating to several sites
that recently became corrupt! The database will not validate. However,
I do have a backup copies of the database from about a week ago that
will validate. The problem is after I try to restore, the restored
database wont start!! I dont know what I am doing wrong.
The backup I have is:
c:\bkup\rvt.db 7/6/2005
c:\bkup\rvt.log 7/8/2005
The corrupted db I have is:
c:\corrdb\rvt.db 7/13/2005
c:\corrdb\rvt.log 7/13/2005
c:\corrdb\05070300.log 7/03/05
c:\corrdb\05070400.log 7/04/05
c:\corrdb\05070600.log 7/06/05
c:\corrdb\05070700.log 7/07/05
c:\corrdb\05070800.log 7/08/05
c:\corrdb\05071100.log 7/11/05
c:\corrdb\05071200.log 7/12/05
c:\corrdb\05071300.log 7/13/05
What I believe is the correct procedure is to run the following:
dbsrv7 c:\bkup\rvt.db -a c:\corrdb\05070800.log
dbsrv7 c:\bkup\rvt.db -a c:\corrdb\05071100.log
dbsrv7 c:\bkup\rvt.db -a c:\corrdb\05071200.log
dbsrv7 c:\bkup\rvt.db -a c:\corrdb\05071300.log
dbsrv7 c:\bkup\rvt.db -a c:\corrdb\rvt.log
However, the database will then not start up:

WHen I try to start the database I get:
Cannot open transaction log file -- Can't use log
file "rvt.log" since the database file has been used more recently.
The updated backup files have these dates:
c:\bkup\rvt.db 7/18/2005
c:\bkup\rvt.log 7/8/2005
CAn anyone see what I am doing wrong?????
