dbeng installation

| Hi everyone,
hope this question is in the right forum, but I really didn't know where to
post it...
I would like to know if the ASA dbengX personal server could be freely
deployed without paying licenses if it would be used on a
single-machine/single-user local environment.
Consider the following examples:
1)
- I am a developer and I buy an ASA9 license to use it on my workstation;
- I create a small stand-alone application and I sell it to a customer;
- The application is deployed by using a setup tool like Installshield or
Wise, which copies dbengX.exe and required deployment files (DLL and so on)
on the target machine;
- The customer installs the application on his laptop and both application
and ASA DB will work only on the laptop, without network access to anything.
In this case, should I buy a second ASA license for the customer's laptop?
2)
- Same as point 1 but this time the application on the laptop includes also
mobilink client and its support files, so the application will send data to
a consolidated ASE DB.
In this case, should I buy some ASA or maybe ASE-client licenses for the
customer's laptop?
I tried to gather these informations but I got different answers, so now I'm
a little confused about this... Does anyone can answer for sure?
TIA
