| Do you have ActiveSync installed? Sybase Central will attempt to connect to
your CE device at the point you get your crash.

Hi,
This may sound pretty silly; but, I'm pretty much a newbie with this
Ultralite CE/Palm OS dev scene. So, if you are developing and
ASA/Ultralite application, what is the solution?

Are you trying to develop an ASA on CE application or an UltraLite
application?
ASA on CE is a full database engine that is only lacking a few features
from the full desktop/server ASA database. UltraLite is a different
type of database that is very limited in features but performs very well
and can be deployed to CE and Palm.

Greg,
The idea that I'm working on is a vertical app that uses ASA on a server
with a client ultralite that resides on a PDA. When the two connect
there will be an auto sync between the two. Frankly, I've not really
settled on the dev/deployment environment at this point and am trying to
gather as much information as I can. I used ASA for an application that
I developed and deployed for a client several years ago (pre-PDA and
internet application, .NET world).
I've not been able to find any usergroup where people are working in
this sort of environment. Like I say, this is simply at the beginning
of the planning and I've never done something like this. That's the
reason I'm asking the questions here. I've not been able to find any
other venue for this type of discussion. Would it be better dealt with
in one of the other forums?

| Have a look at sybase.public.sqlanywhere.mobilink and
sybase.public.sqlanywhere.ultralite in additional to this newsgroup. The
former discusses topics related to data synchronization which will be
helpful to data synchronization being the CE database and the ASA running on
the server. The later addresses issues related to ultralite databases.
Again, you can run a full ASA engine OR ultralite on the CE device. If you
choose the full engine, it operates very similar to ASA running on a desktop
device and as such does not require a more focused forum.
