Creating db with Sy Central for Windows CE problem
|
|
|
| When I create a db using dbinit on the command line and then migrate tables
and data, and copy the db to the Pocket PC device, it works fine. But when I
create a new db using Sybase Central and checking the Windows CE checkbox
(this comes available when the wizard detects ActiveSync on the pc) and
mibrage tables and data, I get this error when I try to connect to the
database on the Pocket PC: "server must be upgraded to start database".
Any ideas?

| Are the versions of the database engine the same on your PocketPC and
desktop?
What do you mean when you say "migrate tables and data" ?

| I'm using Sybase Central version 4.3.0.2387. I have installed only the
latest software from iAnywhere on my machine and using the tools that came
with it. I am assuming that version compatability shouldn't be an issue
since I haven't installed different versions if iA software.
As for migration, once I've created the database using Sybase Central, I
imported the tables and data from my consolidated db in one step by using
the migration utility.
My problem is in connecting to an ASA db from within the Pocket PC (Windows
CE) environment. When I go thru the same steps to create a db without
checking the Windows CE checkbox, I have no problem connecting from within
the Pocket PC environment.
