Author Sybase 8.0.3

A new customer has the following version of linux:
Fedora Core 3 - kernel 2.6.9 - glibc 2.3.3 - ncurses 5.4

Sybase Product Matrix says 8.0.3 requires:
kernel 2.6.4 - glibc 2.3.3 - ncurses 4.2

Will the higher versions of the kernel and the ncurses cause any problems
with 8.0.3?

TIA,
Mike

Note that 8.0.3 has not been tested on the 2.6.9 kernel, so it is
unknown whether you will have any issues (with the kernel).

That said, ASA will likely run on FC3 but we have not tried it, and if
you do have a problem there is no guarentee that we will commit to fixing
it unless it can be repro'ed on a configuration that is tested/supported.

FWIW: ncurses 4.2 is only needed to run dbisqlc.

Mark,

Thanks for the quick response. Are there any current plans to test 8.0.3 (or
any other version) on the 2.6.9 kernel?

Thanks,

Mike

There are no plans to test 8.0.x on FC3, but we do plan to test 8.0.3 (and
maybe 8.0.2?) on RH ES 4 which using the 2.6.9 kernel. It will be several
weeks before this testing is completed though.

An EBF of 9.0.2 will also be tested on RH ES 4.
