| Hi, ALL,
Is it possible to connect from the Linux box to the SQL
Anywhere 5.5.01 that is located on the XP machine? I could
see the XP share from the Linux machine...
Thank you in advance.

No, Linux client for V5.5 never existed, and V6 and newer client
versions are incompatible with 5.5.

Doesn't matter.
Dmitri.

| 2Dimitry:
So, there is no way to connect from Linux/UNIX to SQL
Anywhere 5.5.01?
I know it's possible for 5.5.03, since it had support of
OSG, which is compatible with TDS...
2Joshua Savil:
I am not talking about XP support for 5.5.01. I am talking
about Linux connection to SQL Anywhere....
Thank you, guys.

| Nope, all I am asking if it's possible to connect from Linux
to SQL Anywhere 5.5.01.
Thank you anyway.

| So there is no way to connect from Linux to 5.5.01. But I
know that it's possible for 5.5.03, since it has OSG support
which is compatible with TDS.
Thank you.

No straightforward way, and I'm not interested in obscure roundabouts.
> I know it's possible for 5.5.03
Don't see much difference. And latest 5.5 version is 5.5.05.2817 anyway ;).
Dmitri.

| Yes the Open Server Gateway would allow you to connect an Open Client
application to the 5.5.x server. While this configuration will work, it did
have limitations that prompted us to provide native TDS support in the ASA
6.x servers and above.
As Josh mentioned, we thought you may be interested to know that you are
running end of lifed software on a platform that was not supported for the
that version of the software when the software was still in a supported
state. We would recommend that you at least apply the last available patch &
ebf to your 5.5.x server.
