Author Shouldn't DBBACKUP touch the dababase file?

Hi all,

I just altered our backup procedure from using the BACKUP
DATABASE statement to DBBACKUP.
And then I stumbled over the fact that the backup .DB file
had an old file timestamp and got worried for a while.

Fortunately, I remembered the following thread in this
newsgroup, which was started by Breck on Jan 13, 2005:
"thread "dbbackup should "touch" backup database file".

From this thread, with all its hints and explanations, the
question remains:
Can't DBBACKUP touch the dababase file?
Or is this going to be changed in a future release/EBF?

I'm using ASA 8.0.3.5251, so "DBBACKUP -s" is not available
(if this would influence the file time, as it seems to use
BACKUP DATABASE internally).

TIA

Volker
