Author SMTP update fails to find transaction log

Hi

We run database on a server. A PC on network has dial up modem we use to
update remote locations. (For security reasons we have no internet access on
this network). We are getting error message

"sybase cannot open transaction log directory f:\..."

"f" is mapped to the server. Through explorer we can access the log.

The only way we have been able to overcome this problem is to disable the
map and remap the folder but this is not ideal as the transfer is performed
by non-technical staff who are not confidant/trained to map folders.

Any ideas why this happens and how it can be prevented.

Thanks

Can you please post the full sqlremote log?
What version and build number of ASA are you using?
Is SQL Remote running as a service?
Does the problem still exist if you the UNC name (i.e. \\machine\share)
instead of f: ?
