Author error ssremote with windows 2003 but not with windows NT or 2000

We use a sqlremote replication between a ASE 11.9.2 database
(windows 2003) and a lot of ASA 9.0.1 databases (windows NT
+ 2000 + 2003).

The ssremote program (9.0.1862) is freezing after a while
when it's receiving messages and when it is started from a
windows 2003 platform.

This behavior does not occur when the program is started
from a windows NT or 2000 plateform.

No error messages is produced.

You might be running into a problem that was fixed in 704.3540, 802.4519,
803.5216, 901.1989, 902.3034. The bug fix number was QTS 379621.
Unfortunately, we haven't yet posted a v901 SQL Remote for ASE EBF that
includes this fix, although a v704 and v902 EBF has been posted. Please let
me know if you'd like a v901 SQL Remote for ASE patch posted and start the
QA process to get one posted.

Customer Description:
It was possible for ssremote to become deadlocked while doing conflict
resolution, but the ASE Consolidated database would not detect the deadlock.
The deadlock is now properly detected by the consolidated database and the
offending thread is rolled back and retried by ssremote. This change
introduced a change to the SQL Remote system tables in the consolidated
database. When ssremote binaries are upgraded, you also need to run the
ssupdate.sql file against the consolidated database to ensure that the
schema of the SQL Remote system tables matches what the binaries are
expecting.

Thanks a lot.
This will help us to end our migration from windows NT to
windows 2003.

If the 9.0.2 ssremote version (ASE) is compatible with our
9.0.1 dbremote version (ASA), I will test it.

I contact Sybase support for the EBF.

You can absolutely run the v902 ssremote and talk with v902 dbremote.

There is no need to contact support for the v902 Maintenance Release and the
latest v902 EBF. You can get both by following the instructions in my
footer.
