| I assume your secondary server is also an ASE 11.9.2.
Since this is as much an ASE based question as anything
else you might want to try out one of the Enterprise
focussed newsgroups like
sybase.public.ase.general,
sybase.public.ase.replicator,
sybase.public.rep-server,
sybase.public.high_availability,
or maybe even
sybase.public.rep-agent
Probably the 'best' way has always been to use Replicaiton
Server, so much so that ASE 12.5 has a small model piece
of Rep. Servers added into the main ASE package called
ASE Replicator to do the kind of thing like you 2 machine
setup. Warm Stand-by configurations using Rep. Server
have been araound since ASE 11.0.2 or earlier.
Replication Server is an enterprise product that is also not the
main focus of this newsgroup -- SQL Anywhere customers
can use Rep. Server but typically those customers will opt.
for one of SQL Remote or MobiLink.
Of course there are Backup Server solutions to 'warm'
stand-by.
As to a standard feature offering mad available for just
this purpose, also check out the High Availability (H/A)
options available (also as an enterprise offering).
Some customer have used SQL Remote for ASE to go
between two ASE servers. It can be made to work if
you have access to that. It will take some reading up
to test that out. SQL Remote is an offering that will
be going away shortly, so it is probably not recommended
for use with any long term requirements.
