Author Fatal Alert - MobileVB 3.5 + Ultralite (SQL ANYWHERE 9)

I am using Ultralite with Mobile VB3.5 under Windows XP Professional and
I've writed a Project following the Ultralite for MobileVB Tutorial
available in
http://sybooks.sybase.com/onlineboo...i
ew/418.
I
run the project in the desktop without problems but when I deploy it to may
Palm Zire (2MB RAM / Palm OS 4) and click under the app icon, an error,
Fatal Exception, shows up in a MsgBox with the title Fatal Alert and a Reset
button. The booster is installed OK and I'm able to run others mobilevb app.
The free memory is 295kb, I believe that it's enough to run a so simple
application. I read in this tutorial that I need a booster called PLUS ("If
you use Booster Plus, you can use their MobileVB product with the UltraLite
for Mobile VB Component, and do not need the AppForge booster."). I'm unable
to find this booster or any reference about him in the internet. Someone
know something about it?

Thanks,

Bruno Guimarães

I don't believe there is anything wrong with your booster. The 295KB
available is the amount of storage ram available for the filesystem and not
the amount available to the application. A 2MB OS4 device will have very
little memory available for the application heap and most likely not enough
to run both the booster and Ultralite runtime.

You would have more luck running a C++ Interface or C ESQL Ultralite
application. However, you may still run into problems as your app gets
larger. You may need to switch to an OS5 device.

Could be possible to use the Crossfire 5.6 Booster in a Palm OS 5 device
with an app writed in the Mobile VB3.5? If this work, I can just buy the
Booster license and don't need to buy the Crossfire 5.6 (the license costs
$1000). Is that possible?

Bruno.

You will have to talk to AppForge about this one. They have changed
their licensing model, and the UltraLite license (from us) is now
separate from what they now call the Crossfire client license.
