Does it have to do with .NET framework. The version I have is v1.1.4322

Please post the command line you used to start the ML server.
Also add -v+ -ot ml.txt to the command line.

This is what I see in the log file when the Mobilink server is started. Also
I dont see any issue on our test machine with loading .net assemblies. But
this happens on a dutch version of windows XP with SP2 with .NET framework

Just out of curiosity, does adding the MobiLink Synchronization Server to
the Windows XP Firewall except list change the behaviour? Not sure if this
will resolve the problem, but is worth trying.

W. 10/13 18:15:15. <Main>: Warning: [10073] Windows XP Firewall is enabled,
and the MobiLink synchronization server is not in the exception list.
Clients on remote machines may not be able to connect to this server.

That should read: **Windows XP Firewall exception list**

Hi Joshua,

On my test machine, I tried not having Mobilink Synchronization Server
added to the Windows XP Firewall list. It works fine.
Is there something else you want me to try ?

Thanks
Madhu

Why don't we start from a known location.

Can you follow the .Net tutorial.
If that works, we can focus perhaps on your .Net project instead of a
machine configuration issue.

David,

Version 9.0.2.3131

Here is some update on the issue of not getting my mobilink server started.
Finally narrowed it down from System Problem to .NET 2.0 issue.

The server works fine with with .NET 1.1 SP1 on the machine. Here is the log
where it shows success.

---------

I. 11/22 16:49:32. <Main>: Loaded Assembly "iAnywhere.MobiLink.Script,
Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=a53f0
c6f719e2641" from
"file:///C:/Program
Files/temp/System/bin/ASA/win32/iAnywhere.MobiLink.Script.dll" into Domain
" DefaultMobiLinkDNetS
criptingDomain".

I. 11/22 16:49:32. <Main>: Loaded Assembly "iAnywhere.MobiLink,
Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null" from
"file:///C:/Program Files/temp/System/bin/ASA/win32/iAnywhere.MobiLink.dll"
into Domain " DefaultMobiLinkDNetS
criptingDomain".

I. 11/22 16:49:32. <Main>: Loaded Assembly "PSAuth, Version=0.0.0.0,
Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null" from
"file:///C:/PROGRA~1/temp/System/Data/PSAuth.DLL" into Domain
" DefaultMobiLinkDNetS
criptingDomain".

I. 11/22 16:49:32. <Main>: Loaded Assembly "PSModifyUser, Version=0.0.0.0,
Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null" from
"file:///C:/PROGRA~1/temp/System/Data/PSModifyUser.DLL" into Domain
" DefaultMobiLinkDNetS
criptingDomain".

---------

But once .NET 2.0 is installed on the machine and I try to start the server,
here is the problem I see in Mobilink Server logs.

----------

E. 11/23 10:55:11. <Main>: Error: Could not create domain
" DefaultMobiLinkDNetS
criptingDomain".

E. 11/23 10:55:11. <Main>: Error:
System.Runtime.Serialization. SerializationExcepti
on: Type
'iAnywhere.MobiLink.AsmLoaderRef' in assembly 'iAnywhere.MobiLink,
Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'
is not marked as
serializable. at System.AppDomain. CreateInstanceFromAn
dUnwrap(String
assemblyName, String typeName) at
iAnywhere.MobiLink.ManagedHost. createDomain(el_doma
inSetup setupInfo)

---------

I uninstalled .NET 2.0 and everything seems to work fine as usual. Is there
something that I need to updated from IAnywhere for .NET 2.0 support?

Thanks

Madhu
