Author DBMLSync upload error - Cannot convert scanner
Ian Claridge

2005-11-03, 8:29 pm

I am using MobiLink with ASA version 7.0.4 (Build 2788).

I have an hourly scheduled synchronization definition which
performs uploads only (ie. from remote DB to consolidated DB
only) on certain tables.

The following message appeared in the DBMLSync log
(attached):

E. 11/03 15:43:00. Cannot convert scanner to a unsigned int

The message seems to imply that there is a column called
'scanner' - but none of the subscribed tables have a column
of this name!

Can anyone explain this message, and why it is stopping the
synchronization process?

Regards,

Ian Claridge.

You can't currently have dbmlsync running while dbremote is also active on
the database. The error message is less than helpful.

Yes, we do have dbremote running against the same DB. They
must have clashed. I'll have to work out the scheduling more
carefully!

Thanks for your help.

Ian.

I'm currently looking into fixing the error code or possibly removing the
restriction on the two processes running together. I'll post back to the
forum when I figure out what we're going to do, but it's not a high priority
issue for now, so it might be a week or two.

Fixed in v803.5322 and v902.3221. Unfortunately, we're no longer making bug
fixes to v704, so you'll need to watch your scheduling of dbremote and
dbmlsync until you upgrade to a version where this problem is fixed.
