Author dbmlsync for Linux

I'm running dbmlsync on a machine running Mandrake Linux
9.1, but
with no GUI. Is there anyway to get the information that is
displayed
in the dbmlsync window without having a GUI? I know I can
turn on
logging to get it, but I don't want to do this due to speed
issues.
Is there something I could check periodically that would
tell me the
status of the transfer (how many records have been
transferred,
how long the connection has been up, etc) so I don't have to
turn on
the logging?

thank you,

Tim

How about simply using "-o" or "-ot" (and optionally "-os") ?

I strongly recommend using these flags in any production environment.
This way you are logging the contents of the dbmlsync window to a file,
which can be checked with regular log analysis methodologies.

You only get a performance hit if you increase the verbosity of logging.
Even there, the only real hit is if you are logging row values.

Hope this helps,
