| What is the difference between below two iAnywhere Oracle drivers ???
iAnywhere Solutions 8 - Oracle 8, 8i & 9i (32 bit)
iAnywhere Solutions 9 - Oracle Wire Protocol (32 bit)
Is there a
iAnywhere Solutions ??9?? - Oracle 8, 8i & 9i (32 bit) , ASA 9.x does not
install this
Both the above drivers work with Oracle 9.x in windows platform . The 9.x
docs says
iAnywhere Solutions 9 - Oracle Wire Protocol (32 bit) is the recommended one
..We used to use
iAnywhere Solutions 8 - Oracle 8, 8i & 9i (32 bit) drvier in ASA 8.x
environtment.
Can somebody please explain the difference ???
Thanks,

The "Oracle 8, 8i, 9i" driver requires the Oracle Client to be installed
on the machine (where ML is running).
The "Wire Protocol" driver is a new architecture that does not use the
Oracle Client, so it does not need to be installed. This makes
installation and configuration much simpler.
If you are moving to ML 9.x, I would suggest going with the preferred
driver (Wire Protocol).
Hope this helps,
