Author Server initiated GPRS Push for UltraLite on device

Hi There,
Using ASA and Mobilink on a PC Server we would like to use a GPRS push to
synch the server information using push to Ultralite on the Smartphone (NOT
PPC).

I would like to know the following:

1) Can this push be achieved using GPRS from PC Server to the Smartphone
(With UltraLite) - I suppose definately YES.
2) How would the mobilink server push the information to the SmartPhone?
based on IP- I guess there is no static IP for smartphone so how wud it
work? Or we need to write a listener on the SmartPhone that contiously
listens to server on a port?
3) If the listener is the way to go >> Is there any listener already
developed or some sample you could advise, we could use?
4) Could the ASA database be copied to the Smartphone? Will it still work?
Or it has to be UltraLite. I read that ASA only needs enough memory and it
should work. If this is gonna be ok... I can just copy some SIS samples on
the smartphone ... (after verifying memory and space) and it wud be just
nice.

Regds,
Manoj.

Right, have you read through this section of the 9.0.2 docs?
MobiLink Server-Initiated Synchronization User's Guide
Introducing Server-Initiated Synchronization

Yes, this is done by sending SMS messages to the phone. Since the phone
will most likely not be connected to the internet at the time. Just
waiting for someone to call (or send them an SMS message).

UltraLite comes with a listener (dblsn.exe), it gets configured on the
device to listen for SMS messages and notifies the application. Your
application can be customized to do whatever you want when the
notification arrived.

In past projects I have forced the app to behave differently based on
the contents of the SMS message.

dblsn.exe

Since you are using a Windows operating system, you have the choice of
using either the full blown ASA database or an UltraLite database.
