| FYI, there is a newsgroup forum on this server for test messages. Please
use it for such tests.

| Axel, your post is there, but because your subject line (for both posts now)
was "MobiLink Crashes" and there was another post from November of 2002 with
the same name, some news readers (like Outlook Express) show your new post
as a response to the old post, so it may not be obvious that a new post has
appeared. You should try and use a more unique subject in your posts.
Here's my response to your first post :
Try running with "-ps 0" on the MobiLink command line. We suspect there is
a mutli-threaded problem in the Oracle ODBC driver, but have never been able
to reproduce the problem. The problem seems to go away when you turn off
statement caching in the MobiLink server. There's something about the way
that MobiLink is re-using memory structures that the ODBC driver doesn't
like.

| I shouldn't respond until I've finished my first coffee. I didn't see that
your 2nd post was actually a response and not the same question....
Since you are currently running v901.2085, there is a more recent EBF, but
it's only a few builds higher. I can't think of any ML crash issues that
have been fixed recently, so I'm not convinced it will help. If you follow
the instructions in my footer, you'll want to download the following patch
under the "Platform: Windows x86" section.
SQL Anywhere Studio - Express Bug Fix, Update of 9.0.1 to build 2102
If that doesn't resolve your problem, please start a new thread (with a
unique subject name!) and post the following information :
1) The version and build of MobiLink you are using
2) A verbose MobiLink log and ODBC trace (ML started with "-v+ -ot
mlsrv.txt -tt mlodbc.txt" switch) from when the crash occurs. Post both
logs (the whole thing, don't cut and paste please!) zipped up. There is
information we need that is printed when ML starts up as well as when the
crash occurs. Note that running an ODBC trace WILL slow down your system
during synchronization. If you can't run with ODBC tracing on, we will need
at least a verbose ML log.
3) The Dr. Watson log that is generated when ML crashes.
Note that the free responses you get from the newsgroup are on a voluntary
basis only. It's possible that nobody will have time to look at this
information when you post it. If you require a timely response, you're best
bet it to open a call with Technical Support. Here's the standard response
on contacting Tech Support :
You'll probably need to contact Technical Support to get this issue
resolved. Within North America, you can reach Technical Support
by calling 1-800-8SYBASE. If you are located outside of North
America, you can find the contact information for your local Sybase
Support Center by going to the Sybase home page at
http://www.sybase.com, clicking on the "Support" link at the top of
the page, and then choosing "Support Centers" from the left hand
frame.
You can always report a bug for free by visiting CaseXpress at
http://casexpress.sybase.com/cx/cx.stm. When submitting calls
through CaseXpress, please make sure to give an accurate description
of the steps you take to reproduce the bug, and include any
files that may be needed (database, source code) to reproduce the
problem.

| Hello Reg,
thanks for your reply, I will do as you
adviced me in your post.
Yes, when there is no solution on the newsgroup,
I will open a new case at Sybase.
Sorry for the disorder of my posts.
Greetings, Axel
