Author unable to start mobilink server

env: windows xp, asa 9.0.2, ase 12.5.3 consolidated db.
I am able to start mobilink server.

env: linux 2.6 running through cygwin xwindows.
ENV: Suse Linux
kernel is 2.6.5-7.193
glibc is 2.3.3-97

I get the following error.

odbc dbms name: sql server
odbc dbms driver version: 04.20.0097 (B0080, U0069)
odbc version supported by the driver: 3.52
error: [10002] odbc: [datdirect][[odbc sybase wire protocol driver] [sql
server]
ml_scripts_modified not found. specify owner.objectname
or use sp_help to check whether the object exists
(sp_help may produce lots of output).

The above error cascades into continuous error before ml server terminates.

When I run this from root user I get datasource not found error.

also when I connect from the sybase central to the consolidated database
using mobilink synchronization connection it doesn't list the user tables,
synchronized tables, scripts, etc...

TIA
vsv

Did you run "syncase125.sql" against your ASE consolidated?
Did you run it as the same user that ML is connecting to the database
as? When ML connects, it will be looking for specific tables in that
user/connection's "namespace".

Yes I ran syncase125.sql, otherwise the same error will occur in windows env
too.
After my research in trying to connect I think it is the problem to
identifying the database.

I connected from Sybase central using mobilink synchronization 9 connection
dialog.
Used the same datasource, specified the uid, pwd & "database name" (in the
database folder). It connected but showed tables that belonged to master
database & not the database that I specified.

I connected to DBISQL using odbc databasource name, did the same way of
connecting but it did connect to the correct database & i was able to query
the database tables without any prequalifier.

So, I am wondering what are the connection properties in the odbc.ini file
I have the following in the odbc.ini file:

[asedb1]
Description=ASE on testserver1
Driver=/opt/sybase/SYBSsa9/drivers/wqase19.so
Userid=mblinkusr
Pwd=mblinkusr
DatabaseName=test_db

ServerName=testserve
r1
NetworkAddress=162.5.3.131

I issued the following command:
dbmlsrv9 -c " dsn=asedb1;uid=mblin
kusr;pwd=mblinkusr" -x tcpip -zs
mbsrvr -fr -v+

I got the error -10002.

thanks

PATH, PATH was the problem.
The inifile in the environment variable was pointing to sybase/SYBSsa9
instead of the home directory that I am logged in.
Just running ok.
thanks
