Is it possible to login as root and then execute
executing "select name from master..sysdatabases"
i.e. w/o login as the database user?

Any workarounds to login as root and run that sql?

Thanks,

It is not possible to log in without logging in.

To login, you must login using a login name registered in syslogins.
