Encryption in ASE 15

| An article in InfoWorld article praises performance improvements in the
new release of ASE but it states that this release contains the
"infrastructure" for encryption, but the actual encryption functionality
will not be available until a future release. This doesn't seem to make
a lot of sense. But, if it is true, *when* will that additional
functionality be available?

| I believe it's slated for the first IR release (EBF?) ASE 15.1 ?. I'd defer to
the actual Sybase folks on the list for the specific release that it's targeted
for and when those releases are targeted to be released.

| Column encryption in 15.0 will be available soon: it is expected to be
released in Q1 2006, even before 15.0.1. Stay tuned....
