Author Column Encryption EBF

Hi,

I'm at Adaptive Server Enterprise/12.5.3/EBF 12339 ESD#1/P/Linux
Intel/Enterprise Linux/ase1253/1900/32-bit/OPT/Mon Jan 24 21:41:32 2005 and
need column encryption, which is available with EBF 12929:12.5.3a ESD #1 but
I also see that the latest 12.5 EBF is EBF 13204: 12.5.3 ESD #6 which I
assume includes whatever it is available on 12.5.3.a

Why was this EBF called 12.5.3a and all other ones are just 12.5.3?

Does it mean that only 12.5.3a has the column encryption feature?

Thanks
Germano

only 12.5.3a (and it's EBF's) has the encryption feature.

Do I have to call my Sybase sales rep to get 12.5.3a or can it be downloaded
from some place.

You need to call a sales rep (and it requires an additional
license)

It looks like 12.5.3a is only available for the Enterprise Edition not the
Small Business Edition, which is what I have.

The 15.0 version with Encrypted Columns is also now available. The Edition
will be controlled by your SySAM license, so if you have SBE and license the
EC feature, you will have licenses for ASE_SE (SBE) and ASE_ENCRYPTION.
