EAServer and displaytag
|

| Has anyone able to get the "displaytag" taglibs found at
http://displaytag.sourceforge.net/index.html work with
EAServer 5.xx? My app works fine in tomcat but EAServer
throws out this error:
Files\Sybase\EAServe
r\work\Jaguar\Servle
t\WebApp- displaytag\displayta
g_0005fexample_0002d
styles$jsp.java:127:
Undefined variable: test
_jspx_th_display_tab
le_0.setName(new String(test)); ^ 1
error, 1 warning
P.S: If this is a double post, I apologize. I posted it
previously using firefox but I think it failed.

| There was some discussion about this some time ago. I appeared to be
something to do with the jasper compiler that easerver is using. I know
that I have used 1.0b3 succesfully, but moving to 1.0 caused the error.
There are a couple of people who have created a "hybrid" of version 1.0,
if you search for the thread "Struts : DisplayTag with EAServer" that
started on the 21st of May you will be able to find wha they did to fix
the problem

| Any tip on how to add the export to PDF feature to b2 or b3?
Also, where can I find a write up for the mentioned EAS bug?

| Do a Google Groups search for "EAServer DisplayTag" to see
previous discussion.
I suggest contacting TS - this problem was reported and
verified in April. One would hope that it has been resolved
by now in some version of EAServer.

| Wow! Guess Sybase doesn't really give a damn that you can't run popular
open source on their J2EE server.
Big reason why we're moving away from EAServer. If you're into open
source, try Tomcat. They know how to play well with others.

| Well, maybe you just have to be extremely patient. Or maybe they're
pulling our leg. In any case, this is the resolution to the case I
opened in April regarding the DisplayTag problem, dated April 21:
S: Problem in EAServer 5.2 servlet engine resolved in CR 387723 which
should be available in next release.
Again, try contacting TS. Reference the CR#, and see what's up.
Clearly, if you want to stick with EAServer, you've got to pester TS
relentlessly ;-)

| That's what we are thinking! If only PB components can be
deployed in any other servers, we'll definitely give it a
shot!

| That feature is coming soon. I believe as part of PB 10.5 and EAServer 6.0...support for PB components in JBoss, WebSphere, Oracle
App Server...

| A couple of days ago I had a similar problem and changing
the display:table opening tag name attribute from this:
name="sessionScope.usersABMForm.users"
to the following:
name='<%="sessionScope.usersABMForm.users"%>'
solved the problem
