We have set-up an iiops listener on our EAServer
installation on
windows. We are running EAServer 4.1.3. Whene we try to
connect
to our EAServer from our application using the iiops
listener, we
get the following error:

Aug 26 15:49:08 2005: SRVLIB Message: 16369/10/0: Security
control layer routine SCL_SESS_ACCEPT() failed in
setup_sec() Security error: status = 4 - SSL protocol
unknown error. Aug 26 15:49:10 2005: SRVLIB Message:
16369/10/0: Security control layer routine SCL_SESS_ACCEPT()
failed in setup_sec() Security error: status = 9 - SSL
protocol I/O error. Aug 26 15:49:12 2005: SRVLIB Message:
16369/10/0: Security control layer routine SCL_SESS_ACCEPT()
failed in setup_sec() Security error: status = 9 - SSL
protocol I/O error.

Any ideas what we are doing wrong?

How are you trying to connect? It looks like the incoming connection
isn't secure...

Jonathan,
Thanks for the reply. Our application is an internet based
Java application which uses Java Webstart to download files
and the .jnlp file is accessed which makes a connection (SSL
and non-SSL) to our application server. So in effect we are
connecting using the dowloaded jnlp file. Hope this throws
some light on what we are trying to do.

Sam:

That's very interesting, it sounds like a cool setup.

When you are connecting back to your server, you are using a pipe from
the webstart application back to the server. The connection to the
server is somewhat independent of the pipe - just because the connection
specified by webstart is secure doesn't mean you'll be connecting via
IIOPS. In order to connect using IIOPS, you'll have to set up the
security information on the connection manually (as described in the
programming guide).

Let me know if you've done that, or if you have any questions.
