Googling on the file extension, there are many possible sources that could
have produced the idx files, but the most likely are FoxPro or Symantec Q&A.

FoxPro, you might be able to link to directly. Q&A, I'm pretty sure you
cannot.

Your best bet is to determine what application created those files, and see
whether you can use that application to export them into a format that
Access can use.

Hum, a idx file is usually a FoxPro, or dbase index file.

That means the file is a index, and is NOT A DATA file....

You might ask/find out where the source of the files came from....

I have dome a lot of data conversion and most times IDX stands for a index
file you need to look for a file or files with the extentions of .dbf if you
can inport then into access they are db xx database files if you get an
error they are fox pro files in either case copy the files to a safe place
change the extention to csv do not open the file after you have changed the
extention if you have Excell on yor computer because you may lose some data
Now import the csv file into access. that is all you have to do

I hope this helps you out
