Author Access from a web page

I need to get information from Access from a web page. This is on an
intranet, and the users have Access on their computers.

I thought of developing Access pages, but that appears a fair amount of work
when I already have forms developed.

Is there some html I can use to execute a windows short-cut (.lnk file) that
will start up an Access database? That seems the quickest way to provide the
information from a web page.

Amy,

Thanks for the references. Unfortunately, none address what I would like to
do.

Hanson is using Access to create HTML. Kallal is generically talking about
WANS. Greenspan is overkill.

I was hoping some with some web experience would give me a few lines to html
that will do the trick. I've tried open.window, but that asks a lot of
questions (such as do you want to download or open, etc.). I've also tried
using href, but that closes the existing browser window.

Regards,
Leif

You have to create Data Access Pages if you want your forms on the Web.
There is no magic button that will allow you to use your Access Forms.

I would not recommend using Data Access Pages because you are limited on
what you can do. You could create forms using FrontPage and connect them to
a database. Again you are limited on what you can do.

Using a web development language would be better, but there is more training
involved.

Thanks for your reply.

My case a bit more specialized. I'm only providing this link on a web page
to those on our intranet. Those on the intranet also have access to the file
server where the Access application resides. So really the web link I'm
looking for is just a simple replacement for a desktop shortcut. All the
user's have Access on their system. Placing a link on a web page is simplier
then pushing a shortcut to all the user's desktop that might need the
database.
