As a moderate newbie, maybe I am way over my head but here goes. I am trying
to develop a small commerical access database application that runs over the
web. Users will be assigned a username and password. The information for all
users will be kept in a single database. I would like it so that each user
who logs on to the database only has access to their specific records. Common
asp login scripts allow me to protect certain asp pages but I want to protect
certain records, not just pages. In a perfect world, I would enter the
password for each client in a seperate field for each record. That way, when
they log in to the application, only their records would show up. Am I nuts?
How do other commercial database applications accomplish this. I want to
start small and maybe someday upsize to sequel but not now. I need to keep it
simple. Thanks.
