Download Freezing and resume
|

| I have some problems downloading files with microsoft "file download"
system.
The first problem is when I begin the download everything goes ok. But when
time passes, download freezes. How could I reactive the download?
The second problem is when I download a huge file about 500 - 600 MB it
freezes, I click the button "close" or " abort". But when I restart the
download it cant save the download before it do. How could I resume
downloads?
Any one could help me there?
Thanks a lot...

| There are many softwares out there that can resume downloads.
FlashGet or DAP are 2 examples, but try not to use such softwares when
downloading patches or Service Packs.
"The first problem is when I begin the download everything goes ok. But when
time passes, download freezes."
Are you on a notebook? If you are, did your notebook go into a hibernate
state? or is your hard disk power off automatically after a certain time?
You can check this in Control Panel | Power Options
You can also check with you ISP on your Time out settings on idle
connections and also your LAN settings. You could have set your NIC to sleep
after a certain idle time.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
