Tried to install the Beta on a laptop running XP Home edition with all latest
security patches. Got the following message on failure:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\
msfeeds.dll not found

Any suggestions on remedying this?

I was able to install on another PC, a desktop running XP MCE 2005 with no
problems.

I see this as well.

So what do we have in common? I have Firefox and Avant installed. XP
with SP2. AntiVir virus software. MS AntiSpyware. MS Firewall.

I too have this problem. My machine has:

XP Professional SP2
Firefox
MS AntiSpyware
Trend Micro virus protection

I don't have a firewall as am on a secure LAN.

Anyone know what msfeeds.dll is about?

I get two different errors in ie7beta2_main.log (if there are IE7
installer engineers reading this, can you please change the warning on
the installation failed page of the installer - it says you should look
for log files in your windows system directory, when in fact the logs
are dumped in the windows root folder):

02:53.438: ERROR: |Inst. IE >>> Couldn't delete
SOFTWARE\Microsoft\I
nternet Explorer\InstalledBy
User
02:53.485: ERROR: |Inst. IE >>> Internet Explorer installation
completed with errors, exitresult=0x0000000
0, exitcode=0x00000005

and

00:31.843: ERROR: |Inst. IE >>> Internet Explorer installation
completed with errors, exitresult=0x0000000
0, exitcode=0x0000f02a

Strangely, I get each of these errors on their own, in alternate
executions of the installer... Does anyone else see similar errors?

Sorry about that :)

In both cases, these error messages are preceded by this line:

00:31.797: INFO: Process 'update.exe /quiet /norestart /er
/log:C:\WINDOWS' exited with exit code

I'd suggest asking in a newsgroup related to Internet Explorer.

This newsgroup is for questions about interacting with the internet using
Access, the database product that's part of Office Professional.
