User login id for table level permissions

| My application contains a table for all order and sales information and
another table containing division/doc type cross ref. They are linked by
doc type. Division is always the main filter for the reports. A User may
have access to view all divisions or only a few. I wanted to create a
user/division xref table and all queries should join to that table to
determine based on the user, return a list of divisions. The result will
be only sales & orders for those divisions will be returned.
I am new to access security, so please bear with me. Will I need to grab
the access login id and use this as a parameter to my queries? If yes, how
do I do this? I feel lost and in need of direction.

| You can get the user name for the person that logged on by using the
CurrentUser() function. If the query needs to be filtered based on the
CurrentUser(), you would use the function as criteria in the query. The
query would be RWOP (run with owner permissions), and you'd prevent the
users from viewing the underlying tables directly by setting security for
those tables.
