Point me in the right direction here. I have a FE/BE that I have been
entering data exclusively. Multiple others generate reports from my data.
When I go on the road, I take a copy of the BE to update, then overwrite the
server copy with my copy when I return. My problem is this: If I now have
a new user who will also be inputting information, I run the risk of
overwriting good data. I <think> I need to use the concept of replication
here (if I knew what it was!) or re-write my tables/application to put new
data into temporary tables and import.

Does anyone have any good suggestions?

TIA. Please reply to the forum, or figure out how to reverse the syllables
of my return address.

Sounds as if replication might be appropriate. It is not, IMNSHO, "for the
faint of heart". There is, BTW, a newsgroup specifically dedicated to Access
replication: unsurprisingly, its name is:
microsoft.public.access.replication. Michael Kaplan's site,
http://www.trigeminal.com has good information on the subject, and in the
USENET newsgroup comp.databases.ms-access, you'll find some useful posts by
David Fenton, who has a website or two listed in his sig.

You would certainly get better answers on the subject there than here...
this newsgroup is for multiuser use of Access front-ends with Jet back-ends,
not just questions on the generic subject of "Access environments with
multiple users."
