Author Auto FE Updater - .mdw files

N.B. I already posted this problem on a other group but users told me I
had more chance to run across Tony Toews in this group. Sorry for the
duplicate. I hope to have support this time since every topic I found
on the same subject has no answer.

Thank

I cannot manage to get my mdw file to work with the Auto FE Updater
(created
by Tony Toews).

Here is my .ini file :

MainApp=C:\Data\Stor

Server=G:\BAAD\CUSTS

MDWFile=G:\BAAD\CUST

Lockout=No
LockoutMsg=Sorry, not allowed into the system right now. Some
maintenance is
ongoing. Try again in 10 minutes.

;Value1=$AppPath\tt_

------------
I think all that it needs to be there is there but it will work only
the
first time. All subsequent tries give me an error message until I type
the
password again in the .ini file. Then it will work only 1 time until I
retype
the password in the ini file.

Here is the error I get :

The MDW account name and password in the INI file weren't valid for
opening
the MDB to determine the version of the MDB.

You can re-enter the MDWPassword entry in the INI file and replace
'(Password is encrypted)' with the password. This utility will
automatically update the MDWPasswordEncrypted
entry with the new
encrypted
password.

-------------------
It seems to be a bug or something about the password encryption. Help
will
be very appreciated.

Thanks,

Yanick

This message is for Tony Toews.

Hi Tony, I have tried to reach you by different ways even e-mail you
directly with no result. If you don't know the answer or if you need
time to reply, can you please at least notify me?

If you just don't want to reply I will ask you to stop offering your
Auto FE updater to everyone in groups who want to auto update their
database. I know I am not the only one with this problem and it will be
nice to support your application. So again, if you don't plan to
properly support the tool you created, stop proposing it to everyone.

Sorry if I am rude!

Unbelievable

Don't know if Tony will reply but i don't blame him if he doesn't.
You are getting a free a application, and still demand that the developer
give you one on one, 24/7 support.
Search previous posts in this website, you might find an answer to your
question.

Hi, just let you know I search the web to find a solution since a
month. Because this is an application developped by Tony Toews, guest
what I always (or so) find solution related to him. I don't demand one
on one support, I want to know if I can count on Tony Toews's support.
If he develloped the Auto Fe Updater between two project to be nice
with the communitie that's ok. All I asked is an answer. A quick "Sorry
I can't help you" would have been nice.

You said "If you just don't want to reply I will ask you to stop offering
your Auto FE updater to everyone in groups who want to auto update their
database."

That's presumptious of you, and I believe that's why you're being criticized
by others.

I admit it, I have been presumptuous. I was fed up of searching with no
result and angry to receive no reply from "THE" guy. Even if I still
didn't receive a reply from Tony, I apologize. There is in fact no
obligation for Tony to give answers 100% of the time.
