HELP..............Ms Access [Read-only] Email

| I want to send an Ms Access File [Via Zip File] through email and I want the
person just to be able to open the file and SAVE AS anywhere and begin using
the db as if it was created on there computer; however when I send it, it
automatically becomes READ-ONLY.
Is it possible to just send an Ms Access File via email with out the READ-
ONLY and is it possible to the person just to open the file and SAVE AS and
begin using it as if it was created on there PC?
Please give specific instructions.
I appreciate this so much.

| Access is not a document. You don't open and save as - like you would a
Word document. When you open an Access database, the application is
actively reading and writing data to that file. It does not wait until you
tell it to save the changes, like a Word document.
The user should first save it to a location, then remove the "read-only"
flag if there is one set.

Yes you are right "Save to location" that is what I mean' t to say.
However, if before you ever send the file and right click on properties and
the Read-Only check box is UNCHECKED [then you zip it up] and when you send
the file it automatically becomes Read-ONLY, how do you take the read-only
off the file?

| You don't. I assume that the system sets that flag. This also happens when
you save a file to a CD.
Your recipients will just have to remove it.

Forgive, but my whole quesiton is around how do they remove the read-only?
Once they save the file and open, WHAT do they need to do to take off the
read-only?
Steps... I am so sorry I have been confusing, but this was the original
question. [How] I know what they need to do, but how to do it?

| Sorry.
Once they save the file to their hardrive, then need to right-click the file
and select properties. Then uncheck the "read-only" flag. They need to do
this while the file is not open.
